USER AGREEMENT

Effective: 1-31-2024


This User Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Alter ("Installer") and the user ("User") who wishes to have a custom-configured Ubuntu OS and software installed on their computer. By proceeding with the installation, the User agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Software Installation:

Installer will personally install and configure the Ubuntu OS and any additional software applications specified in the service agreement to meet User's specific needs. The list of specified software applications and their download links can be found on our website at altercomputers.com/apps. Users are responsible for reviewing the list of included applications in their custom configuration.

2. Data Privacy:

Installer is committed to protecting User's privacy and data. During the installation process, certain information may be collected and processed to ensure the system functions properly.Personal data will not be shared with third parties without User's consent, except in cases where it is necessary for processing inquiries or submissions made through the 'Contact' and 'Submission' sections of the website. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.

3. Data Wiping:

During the installation process, the user's hard drive will be completely wiped. All existing data and files on the computer will be permanently deleted. It is the user's sole responsibility to ensure that they have backed up any files they wish to save externally before proceeding with the installation. The installer will not be held responsible for any data loss that may occur as a result of the data wiping process.

4. System Performance:

Installer aims to improve system performance through custom configurations. However, individual results may vary depending on hardware specifications and system usage. Specific performance outcomes are not guaranteed.

5. Internet Access and Parental Protection:

The custom-configured Ubuntu system may include limited internet access with PIN protection. Parental protection features on the web browser may be available upon request.

6. User's Name and Email:

User agrees to provide their name and email for communication and support purposes.

7. Disclaimers:

Data Loss:

Installer is not responsible for data loss during the installation process and strongly advises User to back up all critical data. Users should be aware that, in rare instances, unforeseen circumstances may lead to data loss, and it is the User's responsibility to ensure data backup.

File-Type Conflicts:

Compatibility with all existing user files cannot be guaranteed. While we make every effort to ensure a smooth installation process, conflicts may arise between external files and the new operating system. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to resolve these conflicts, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with all files.

System Performance:

Individual system performance may vary.


By proceeding with the installation, the User acknowledges that they have read and understood this Agreement, including the responsibilities and limitations outlined herein. If the User does not agree with any part of this Agreement, they should not proceed with the installation.
